Description
Background jobs are an architectural pattern for scaling your server. With this pattern, you can have a cluster of background jobs and scale a lot of your heavy work to background workers. I found this architectural pattern extremely useful in Node.js servers, as it allows me to increase the scale of my server drastically. Specifically, I implemented it with NPM Bull library, which gives a lot of the needed abilities for this pattern out of the box. In this talk, after introducing background jobs, I will explain how to implement them with Bull in your Node.js server. I will show concrete examples of heavy work that you can execute more efficiently with it in order to reach more scale in your server, as part of a live demo of the server. After this talk, you will get, as a developer, a very powerful tool to scale your Node.js server.
