09:00 - 17:00
Content & Process
During the day, content blocks will be introduced and explained. Step modules can be downloaded from GitHub, which attendees will use to implement crucial bits of the application logic themselves, based on the instructions. This approach serves to deliver a deep understanding of the technology and patterns required for a modern application system.
Recommendations and demonstrations of existing ready-made systems round off the day.
Audience & Requirements
Attendees should bring a laptop with a basic Node.js developer
toolchain: a late version of Node (e.g. 10.16.0 LTS), git tools and VS Code are recommended. Content and Node packages will be downloaded during the day, so you should be able to configure the laptop for access to the conference Wifi.
For the NoSQL part of the workshop, please have MongoDB available on the laptop. This can either be a local installation or a pre-downloaded Docker image (please don’t assume we can all download this image on the day!).
